Good News: The Nardagani Reading Program and Buhl Middle School Pilot Program Achieves Positive Results
The Nardagani Reading Program and Buhl Middle School Pilot Program, in Buhl, Idaho, which started in September 2020 and ended in December 2020, has reported excellent testing results.
“There were over 100 sixth grade students in the pilot program/research study. They were pretested with a standardized test the first week of school, and then again in December. Because of COVID-19, the teaching was slower than usual, and the reading class met fewer times a week than usual,” Narda Pitkethly, CEO and Founder of Nardagani, expands.
However, despite the COVID-19 learning environment, The Nardagani Reading Program and Buhl Middle School Pilot Program achieved positive results. Some exciting highlights of this study include the students having a 4.4 to 5.5 grade mean (average) grade equivalent growth and an overall mean grade equivalent improvement of 1.1 grade levels. In addition, the students had a 3.8 to 5.0 grade median equivalent growth. This translates to a median grade equivalent improvement of 1.2 grade levels. These numbers reflect a 27.10% reading mean and a 17.29% spelling mean improvement.
“Besides the median improvements, there are some things that are really interesting. The improvement amongst those who had almost no reading skills is spectacular. Some kids basically went from zero to almost third grade level, in just three months! And some of the top readers had terrific improvements as well. It’s exciting to see how effective Nardagani can be on a large group of students in school in such a short amount of time,” shares Pitkethly.
