Joanna Learns to Read with Nardagani
Before her parents discovered the Nardagani Reading program, Joanna was an 8-year-old, first grader, who was struggling to read at class level and realized she was behind her classmates and peers. However, just three weeks later, Joanna is reading at grade level, feeling confident, and even wants to read more.
Narda Pitkethly, Nardagani’s founder and Joanna’s tutor, shares what it was like working with her young student one-on-one and teaching her to read.
How was your experience working with Joanna?
Narda Pitkethly: “At first Joanna was shy, and seemed a bit sad. But after the first lesson, Joanna became spunky and talkative. She was eager to learn and paid close attention while learning. One of the most exciting things for me about this student was that Joanna talked about wanting to learn to read, so she could read well like her friend, Katie.”
What was a tutoring technique you used with Joanna?
Narda Pitkethly: “In our earlier lessons, I needed to remind her to start with the first letter in each word, as she would start sounding out the word in the middle. With practice, Joanna learned to sound out words starting with the first letter.”
Are Joanna’s reading results and success typical of a young Nardagani student?
Narda Pitkethly: “Parents should expect a similar result as Joanna’s when choosing the Nardagani Reading Program for their children. Like Joanna demonstrated, Nardagani students become engaged early in the first lesson because our symbols are new and fun, which makes kids want to learn to read.”
Whatever your English language learning goals for your child, the Nardagani Reading Program can help all types of challenged readers, just like Joanna. Whether your goal is to improve student pronunciation in elementary school, increase phonic awareness, help your son or daughter struggling with reading speed or fluency or even learn how to better read English, Nardagani can support you and your child by teaching decoding (sounding out words) quickly and simply. Moreover, not only does Nardagani teach challenged readers successfully, our online reading program is also fun, which supports learning and engages our youngest reading program students.
