Parents and Grandparents Love Nardagani
Parents and grandparents who have had their child use the Nardagani Reading Program saw their student’s reading improve. Many students that learn with Nardagani at home are challenged readers who have been diagnosed with a reading disability and even qualify for IEP (Individual Education Program) in the public school system. Nardagani parents share their experiences of using the reading program at home with their children.
Nancy Brandt hired a tutor for her grandson who was entering second grade and could not read, “having a kind and patient tutor who understood my grandson’s needs made learning Nardagani easy and fun. I simply can’t say enough about this program and the coded symbols. He is now reading at a third grade level and his first grade teachers simply can’t believe it! With the help of his tutor, I saw an improvement in his reading after three lessons. All school systems need to hook into this—it’s a fabulous program.”
Sarah Irvin had a secret she wanted to hide from the world. Despite being a fairly articulate mother of four, Sarah could barely read.
For years, she’d managed to hide it. Irvin did what she could to survive her school years, including becoming adept at cheating. “It was one of the ways to cope. I didn’t get the help I needed. I had an impairment that you couldn’t visually see. I felt like I was dumb,” she said from her home in San Antonio, Texas. “I have a fairly good vocabulary, but the written word has always been a challenge for me.”
“It’s very discouraging to struggle while trying to read to your children,” Sarah said. “It was awful and painful and terrible. I never wanted to read to my kids.”
After discovering that her third child, Drew, was having challenges reading, her sister-in-law told her about the Nardagani reading program. The program not only turned out to be a godsend for her son, but for Sarah, too. “I didn’t want him to have to go through what I did, the pain of not knowing how to read,” she said.
Shortly after beginning the Nardagani reading program, both Drew and Sarah began to improve their reading skills. The flashcards and the sounding system of Nardagani instantly clicked for them. “I could hear the sounds and it helped me read and spell better. There’s a power in being able to sound things out. I could quickly tell a huge difference for myself, and for my third child, reading became much easier, too. It’s been really, really great for my family,” she said. “It was heaven sent.”
Sarah recommends the Nardagani reading program to folks of any age who have trouble reading, and she wants to remind people who struggle like she once did that they’re not alone.
“The English language is hard. I don’t know why we have to make it so complicated. For some people, there’s logic to it. For others, like me, it’s tough, but coming to terms with that helps. It doesn’t mean you’re dumb. It just means you have a challenge and you need some help. And Nardagani can help you,” she said. “It’s just such a beautiful program. It’s so ingenious. It’s not too overwhelming. It’s not just for kids. It works for adults, too. It freed me from the mindset that I couldn’t read,” Sarah said.
Sven’s story started with a note from a desperate grandmother.
“My grandson is 12 years old, autistic and cannot read,” wrote Catherine Hayward. “His teachers say he may never learn to read. It would be a miracle if you could teach him to read.”
Then, only after five lessons of Nardagani, Sven was reading five-letter words. One lesson later, he read his first full book—about a yellow dog named “Biscuit.”
Sven’s father, Sam Dickey, says his son is reading words that he never thought he would ever be able to read.
“He’s definitely come a long way—it blows my mind to think how far he’s come,” Sam said. “Even his teachers recognize how without Nardagani he might still be at square one. I’d say if something like Nardagani can help Sven, it can help anyone.”
In his junior year of high school, Sven became a proud member of the National Honor Society of America.
